Franz J. T. Lee: The United States is not only bankrupt ... it is totally corrupt!
University of Los Andes
(ULA) professor Franz J. T. Lee writes: It
is well known among economists that the major disasters of
over-production of the Great Depression of 1929 in Europe could have
been avoided if only the US State would have printed more paper money
en masse and would have thrown it onto the world market for global
circulation.
However, at different stages of capital accumulation different problems result, and in globalization, this panacea will not work, simply because imperialist corporatism in its sterility is already declining pretty fast..
Because of the organic composition of capital ... that is of the precarious relation between living physical and intellectual labor forces and their "dead" non-consuming tools ... the machines and computers that are necessary for world production, the existence of the current gigantic products on the world market, and the reigning problems of consumption, are causing an unprecedented social contradiction that cannot be resolved within the current world order any more.
The world system spells doom, it has to show its real "democratic" grimace: self-destruction, genocidal, fascist world wars.
Itself faced with extinction, like a ferocious wild beast, fatally wounded, historically already in death pangs, the Bush administration is becoming more and more brutal, more fascist, as it faces its inexorable demise. What it fears most is the truth, the emancipatory truth on the galactic horizon, the Latin American ALBA of President Chavez of Venezuela, that is, real, true human creation and creativity.
Centuries ago while Europe was still entering the Dark Ages, celebrating the Thousand Year Wars and the Inquisition, the Arab philosophic forefathers of the contemporary Iranian Ayatollahs, whose names were deliberately Latinized, Avicenna and Averroes, kept the emancipatory flames of human emancipation burning in the heart of Africa and Asia.
Long before the Renaissance, before the Illustration, before the triumph of capitalism, they had already discovered and preserved natura naturans and natura naturata, the creating nature and created nature, fertile Mother nature ... for mankind.
This is what we defend at this moment in Iran and Venezuela!
In globalization, the situation has changed drastically, such pain-killers like printing bank notes will not function anymore.
The latter do not consume and hence produce no surplus value, no profits. Furthermore, only about 2% of the total workers on a global scale, mainly the labor intelligentsia, produce the lion's share of expensive goods like arms of mass destruction, sophisticated military hard- and soft- wares, space ships, satellites, invisible atomic submarines or scramjets.
Furthermore, in and for themselves, all alone, computers and machines do not produce capitalist profits. The situation has become absurd, instead of accumulating capital, the huge corporations are now destroying surplus value and profits, that is, the capitalists are committing suicide, and therewith will destroy labor and the laborers on a world scale.
Yet the North American conservative think-tanks in total despair still think that they could use obsolete methods to halt the inexorable downfall of the American Empire. Because its economic collapse is imminent within the next decades, according to some sources there already exists orders to print US$2 trillion to try to brake the coming disaster, this time again caused by massive capitalist over-production.
In fact, even US Comptroller General David Walker confirmed this coming Armageddon.
Currently, not only President Chavez is going "cool," is going "Swiss" towards where the euro still flourishes, even Bush is becoming "neutral," is grazing on the green pastures of the majestic Alps. In the USA soon no taxes will be necessary anymore, a $27.5 trillion for Americans is being arranged in Swiss Banks.
Wake up, America, things are changing pretty fast, are moving towards the oriental horizons.
US Defense Minister Donald Rumsfeld accuses the government of President Chavez of undemocratic vices, fraud, corruption, and "over-spending," because he wants to renew his obsolete arms, also of wasting precious oil money on his neighbors.
Here is a simple, single example:
On May 18, 2003, we were informed by the San Francisco Chronicle that $1 trillion of the Pentagon's military budget was missing, has evaporated just like that.
"The Department of Defense, already infamous for spending $640 for a toilet seat, once again finds itself under intense scrutiny, only this time because it couldn't account for more than a trillion dollars in financial transactions, not to mention dozens of tanks, missiles and planes. ... Though Defense has long been notorious for waste, recent government reports suggest the Pentagon's money management woes have reached astronomical proportions. A study by the Defense Department's inspector general found that the Pentagon couldn't properly account for more than a trillion dollars in monies spent. A GAO report found Defense inventory systems so lax that the U.S. Army lost track of 56 airplanes, 32 tanks, and 36 Javelin missile command launch-units."
Where did all these greenbacks go?
Till today America does not know the answer.
Only in Nigeria such huge sums of money could suddenly disappear into thin air, but Rumsfeld surely beats all of us. This is the "Empire" that wants to rule Venezuela, Latin America, the World!
However, the world wars are approximating Iran and Venezuela: Iran defiantly has rejected the demands of the United Nations, totally controlled by the United States: "Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice warned Iran on Thursday the "international community is united" in the dispute over its nuclear program, but a Tehran envoy defiantly rejected a UN call to re-impose a freeze on uranium enrichment."
Meanwhile because of this defiance against World Fascism, oil shot above $66 a barrel "toward its $70 record, after Iran rejected a UN Security Council demand that it halt uranium enrichment."
The USA is already training its reactionary paramilitary forces and death squads here in the Caribbean, thus, Iran and Venezuela, beware of imminent multiple military strikes within the next months!
As we stated repeatedly, it is not a matter of personal choice, of individual dictators or tyrants, the current world situation concerns an issue of life and death, of life or death, the fascist fading away of capitalism into oblivion and the dawning of human transmutation and transcendence on the emancipatory horizon.

US Navy prepares aircraft carrier strike group for "major training exercise"
The Virginian-Pilot (Jack Dorsey): The (US) Navy will send an aircraft carrier strike group, with four ships, a 60-plane air wing and 6,500 sailors, to Caribbean and South American waters for a major training exercise, it was announced Monday.
Some defense analysts suggested that the unusual two-month-long deployment, set to begin in early April, could be interpreted as a show of force by anti-American governments in Venezuela and Cuba.
The mission was sought by the US Southern Command, which has its headquarters in Miami and is responsible for all military activities in Latin America south of Mexico.
Led by the aircraft carrier George Washington, the deployment also will include the guided missile cruiser Monterey, guided missile destroyer Stout -- all from Norfolk -- and the guided missile frigate Underwood, based in Mayport, Fla.
“The presence of a US carrier task force in the Caribbean will definitely be interpreted as some sort of signal by the governments of Cuba and Venezuela,” said Loren Thompson of the Lexington Institute, a pro-defense think tank in Washington.
“If I was sitting in the Venezuela capital looking at this American task force, the message I would be getting is America still is not so distracted by Iraq that it is unable to enforce its interests in the Caribbean,” Thompson said.
The objective of the deployment is to support the Southern Command’s maritime security in its area of responsibility, the Navy said, which includes 32 countries: 19 in Central and South America and 13 in the Caribbean.
The Navy, citing security requirements, declined to say which nations the carrier group would work with or which ports it might visit. “Each ship will make two or three port visits in the region throughout their two-month deployment, but at this time no announcements are being made,” said Lt. Cmdr. Chris Loundermon, a spokesman for the US Southern Command.
Called 'Partnership of the Americas,' the exercise will focus on “unconventional threats, such as narco-terrorism and human trafficking, and improving training levels in a variety of mission areas,” the Navy said in a news release.
Stephen Johnson, a former US State Department and senior policy analyst for Latin America at The Heritage Foundation, said such training exercises are relatively common in the region for the United States , albeit smaller ones. “It’s a chance to show the flag and let our friends know we care,” he said.
As far as the exercise also sending a message to Latin American countries opposed to US policies, particularly to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, “there is a challenge for us not to be threatening and reignite hostilities in the region,” Johnson said. However, there also is increasing concern Venezuela has begun to amass new weapons – from rifles to helicopters -- possibly including Russian Su-27 or Chinese J-10 aircraft .
Tom Baranauskas, a Latin American defence analyst with Forecast International, said Venezuela has plans to procure 138 naval vessels, from small patrol craft to larger ones capable of carrying surface-to-air missiles. It also wants to buy 30 transports and gunship helicopters for the army, he said.
“That was before the oil prices went up,” Baranauskas said. “Now the money is available, and there is a pretty nice pool to buy this stuff from.”
Thompson, with the Lexington Institute, said that although the Caribbean is a natural training area for the United States, “we don’t have a task force there very often because of the political sensitivities.
“So the fact we are doing it now will be interpreted by Castro and Chavez as indicative of some sort of US plan, or initiative, or whatever you want to call it ,” said Thompson, referring to the Venezuelan leader and Cuban President Fidel Castro. He said US military interests in the region “waxes and wanes” depending on the political rhythms.
“Right now, in addition to the persistent irritation of Castro, we have a very anti-American government in Venezuela, and we have a chronic guerrilla insurgency and narcotics problem in Colombia. “Needless to say, the Venezuela issues intersect rather powerfully with our energy dependence.”
Norfolk-based Navy officials said the last time an aircraft carrier was in that region was summer 2004, when the Ronald Reagan sailed around South America after it left Norfolk to join the Pacific Fleet. However, that was a relatively quick trip to get the ship to its new home in San Diego.
The Navy drastically cut back sending its carrier groups, as well as all other warships, to the Caribbean for training when it agreed to abandon the island of Vieques near Puerto Rico in May 2003. Such training activities have since moved to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic.
Likewise, a yearly exercise in the area, called UNITAS, has been scaled back in recent years. UNITAS is a multinational naval deployment exercise.
Every year since 1960, US Navy ships have circumnavigated the South American continent, participating in maneuvers with local navies.
Lately, however, fewer than four US ships have participated. Instead of an exercise that once lasted as long as six months, it now is relegated to a month or two and is conducted in phases.
GW strike group will head south for training

FBI
Keeps Watch on Activists
Antiwar,
other groups are monitored to curb violence, not because of ideology,
agency says.
By
Nicholas Riccardi, Times Staff Writer
March 27, 2006 [from the 27 March 2006 Los Angeles Times]
DENVER
— The FBI, while waging a highly publicized war against terrorism, has
spent resources gathering information on antiwar and environmental
protesters and on activists who feed vegetarian meals to the homeless,
the agency's internal memos show.
For years, the FBI's
definition of terrorism has included violence against property, such as
the window-smashing during the 1999 Seattle protests against the World
Trade Organization. That definition has led FBI investigations to
online discussion boards, organizing meetings and demonstrations of a
wide range of activist groups. Officials say that international
terrorists pose the greatest threat to the nation but that they cannot
ignore crimes committed by some activists.
It's
one thing to express an idea or such, but when you commit acts of
violence in support of that activity, that's where our interest comes
in," said FBI spokesman Bill Carter in Washington.
He stressed
that the agency targeted individuals who committed crimes and did not
single out groups for ideological reasons. He cited the recent arrest
of environmental activists accused of firebombing an unfinished ski
resort in Vail. "People can get hurt," Carter said. "Businesses can be
ruined."
The
FBI's encounters with activists are described in hundreds of pages of
documents obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union under the
Freedom of Information Act after agents visited several activists
before the 2004 political conventions. Details have steadily trickled
out over the last year, but newly released documents provide a fuller
view of some FBI probes.
"Any definition of terrorism that would
include someone throwing a bottle or rock through a window during an
antiwar demonstration is dangerously overbroad," ACLU staff attorney
Ben Wizner said. "The FBI will have its hands full pursuing antiwar
groups instead of truly dangerous organizations."
ACLU attorneys
say most violence during demonstrations is minor and is better handled
by local police than federal counterterrorism agents. They say the FBI,
which spied on antiwar and civil rights leaders during the 1960s,
appears to be investigating activists solely for opposing the
government.
"They don't know where Osama bin Laden is, but
they're spending money watching people like me," said environmental
activist Kirsten Atkins. Her license plate number showed up in an FBI
terrorism file after she attended a protest against the lumber industry
in Colorado Springs in 2002.
ACLU attorneys acknowledge that the
FBI memos are heavily redacted and contain incomplete portraits of some
cases. Still, the attorneys say, the documents show that the FBI has
monitored groups that were not suspected of any crime.
"It
certainly seems they're casting a net much more widely than would be
necessary to thwart something like the blowing up of the Oklahoma City
federal building," said Mark Silverstein, legal director of the ACLU of
Colorado.
FBI officials respond that there is nothing improper about agents
attending a meeting or demonstration.
"We
have to be able to go out and look at things; we have to be able to
conduct an investigation," said William J. Crowley, a spokesman for the
FBI in Pittsburgh. His field office filed a report — released by the
ACLU this month — in which an agent described photographing Pittsburgh
activists who were handing out fliers for a war protest. The report
mentioned no potential violence or crimes.
Crowley said his
office had been looking for a certain person in that case and had
closed the file when it realized the suspect was not among those
handing out the leaflets.
The murky connection that the federal
government makes between some left-wing activist groups and terrorism
was illustrated in a Justice Department presentation to a college law
class this month.
An FBI counterterrorism official showed the
class, at the University of Texas in Austin, 35 slides listing militia,
neo-Nazi and Islamist groups. Senior Special Agent Charles Rasner said
one slide, labeled "Anarchism," was a federal analyst's list of groups
that people intent on terrorism might associate with.
The list
included Food Not Bombs, which mainly serves vegetarian food to
homeless people, and — with a question mark next to it — Indymedia, a
collective that publishes what it calls radical journalism online. Both
groups are among the numerous organizations affiliated with anarchists
and anti-globalization protests, where there has been some violence.
Elizabeth
Wagoner said she was one of the few students who objected to the
groups' inclusion on the list. "My friends do Indymedia," she said. "My
friends aren't terrorists."
Rasner said that he'd never heard of
the two groups before and didn't mean to condemn them. But he added
that it made sense to worry about violent people emerging from
anarchist networks — "Any group can have somebody that goes south."
Denver,
where the ACLU fought a lengthy court battle with local police over its
spying on political groups, has the most extensive records of
encounters between the FBI and activists. Documents obtained by the
ACLU there revealed how agents monitored the lumber industry
demonstration, an antiwar march and an anarchist group that activists
say was never formed.
In June 2002, environmental activists
protested the annual meeting of the North American Wholesale Lumber
Assn. in Colorado Springs. An FBI memo justified opening an inquiry
into the protest because an activist training camp was to be held on
"nonviolent methods of forest defense … security culture, street
theater and banner making."
About 30 to 40 people attended the
protest; three were arrested for trespassing while hanging a political
banner. Colorado Springs police faxed the FBI a three-page list of
demonstrators' license plate numbers.
In a recent interview,
Denver FBI spokeswoman Monique R. Kelso first said the training camp
and protest would not have been enough to merit an anti-terrorism
inquiry. But later she said that she wasn't familiar with the details
of the case and that the FBI opened cases when there was possible
criminal activity.
The FBI's Denver office also monitored a
February 2003 antiwar demonstration in Colorado Springs. A bureau memo
said that activists planned to block streets and an Air Force base
entrance, and that a more "radical" faction had announced online that
it would meet near the demonstration but break away for unspecified
purposes. The memo said an agent would watch the breakaway group and
report to local police and FBI agents monitoring the march.
FBI
officials say there was additional information, which they cannot
disclose, that justified a terrorism investigation of that protest.
They stress that they have to be aggressive in investigating terrorism
in the post-Sept. 11 world.
"There's a lot of responsibility on
the FBI," said Joe Airey, head of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force
in Denver. "We have a real obligation to make sure there are no
additional terrorist acts on this soil."
Denver-area activists
said that since the surveillance documents became public, there had
been a subtle chill, with some people avoiding protests for fear of
ending up in an FBI file. Some activists think the FBI has been
watching their groups to intimidate them.
"We've kind of
gathered up our skirts and pulled in," said Sarah Bardwell, who works
for the American Friends Service Committee, a Quaker group. Along with
some activist roommates, she has also volunteered for Food Not Bombs.
"In our house, we don't talk about politics anymore," Bardwell said.
"There's been a toning down of everything we do."
That change came after six FBI agents and Denver police officers
visited her house in July 2004.
Months
earlier, the FBI had obtained a flier advertising a meeting near
Bardwell's house to form a chapter of Anarchist Black Cross. That
movement has two wings; one, according to the FBI, has been associated
with "some of the most violent left-wing groups of the past 40 years."
The
organizer of the meeting, Dawn Rewolinski, said the prospective chapter
would have been part of the movement's other wing, which writes letters
to prisoners. The chapter was never established, Rewolinski said. "All
we did is eat some cookies and talk about various prisoners and realize
we didn't have enough money for a P.O. box."
Nonetheless, FBI
investigators believed a Denver chapter had been launched. They
discovered that Anarchist Black Cross was affiliated with Food Not
Bombs, and authorities ended up on Bardwell's doorstep, asking about
the anarchists' plans for protests at the upcoming Democratic and
Republican national conventions.
Kelso, the FBI spokeswoman,
said there were documents that could not be released to the ACLU that
showed good reasons for the government's concern. She dismissed the
idea that agents were spying on activists for political reasons.
"We don't have enough agents," Kelso said, "to go ou go out there to monitor
and surveil innocent people."

An uninhibited rampage of insane falsification against Venezuelan democracy
VHeadline.com commentarist Arthur Shaw writes: Over 400 owners, editors and journalists of the capitalist media and propaganda network throughout the western hemisphere met, or more correctly, conspired March 17-20 in Quito (Ecuador), for what they called their Midyear Meeting of the Inter American Press Association (IAPA) to review and to plot bourgeois propaganda and psychological warfare operations against "populist" masses of Latin America and the Caribbean, who are struggling for democracy, national sovereignty, and a higher standard of living.
The IAPA defends a contradiction that is correctly called "bourgeois democracy;" the poles in this opposite -- the bourgeoisie and democracy -- struggle against one another.
IAPA, in practice, denies the possibility of democracy if the bourgeoisie doesn't exercise power. Thus, it denies the possibility of free speech and free press where the bourgeoisie doesn't exercise power.
Venezuela is a country where the bourgeoisie does not exercise power. The IAPA sometimes criticizes bourgeois regimes that restrict press freedom, but the IAPA members generally bury or ignore stories about bourgeois regimes in their publications, but stories about non-bourgeois governments … which are almost always false … are blown up and rammed down the throats of the public..
These IAPA representatives of the capitalist press of the western hemisphere conspired … in comfort … at Hotel Swissotel in Quito which charged the visiting owners of the capitalist media the full rate, but the journalists and editors, the professional liars of the bourgeois media, got a discount rate of US$110 a day.
In consideration of the full rate that the media big shots paid, the accommodating management of the hotel set aside a VIP lounge in its Montreaux Room of the Hotel so that the capitalist owners of the media and high-ranking Ecuadorian government officials (including Ecuadorian President Alfredo Palacio) would not have to fraternize with riff-raff, trash, or the socially "populist" journalists and editors whom the media owners employ in their propaganda operations.
On Saturday, March 18, the Committee on Freedom of the Press & Information of IAPA met from 9:00 am to review and put the final touches on the game plan for the defamation of Venezuela.
A series of panel discussions followed Saturday from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm (with numerous breaks for coffee, liquor, and the restrooms) during which the participants discussed restrictions on the bourgeois press in various countries.
For IAPA, the non-bourgeois press doesn't count, so it's OK for the state to restrict it.
The IAPA was not interested in press freedom in the United States. When it discussed the massive infringements, corruption, and restrictions on free speech in the USA, the IAPA tends to trivialize and apologize for the manifest contempt of the ruling GOPs for the First Amendment of the US Constitution which, among other things, protects free speech and press.
The 400 or so IAPA participants groveled like dogs before the propaganda representatives of the USA dictatorial regime in Washington which murders journalists in Iraq and Afghanistan, trains death squads in Latin America that murder and torture journalists, throws journalists into jail and keeps them there, edits the journalistic content of the submissive US bourgeois media to assure "national security" and "antiterrorist" compliance, surveilles the telephones and computers of journalists; criminalizes the reporting of crimes and other illegal acts by the Bush regime to the media, classifies vast about amounts of formerly public information to conceal the activities of the government and bribes journalists into writing false but favorable stories about the Bush regime. All of these restrictions … and more … on the press in the USA were skillfully rationalized and trivialized and apologized away by the bourgeois and imperialist propagandists, many of whom appeared to be either drunk or high by 1:00 pm, Saturday. (They would have had an even better time if they had met in Colombia.)
After the assembled disciples of Joseph Goebbels lined up and paid homage to the US propaganda apparatus, they turned their vile attentions to the main event, the defamation of Venezuelan democracy.
After nearly a full day of coffee, liquor, and restrooms, the IAPA delegates were in a receptive frame of mind. From 2:30 - 4:00 on Saturday a "special panel" on press freedom in Venezuela took over, composed of David Natera, Correo del Caroni, Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela; Marcel Granier, Radio Caracas TV, Canal 2, Caracas, Venezuela; and Bruce W. Sanford, Baker & Hostetler, Washington, D.C.
Among the highlights of the presentation of the "special panel" were tales about "censorship and harassment" against the media and journalists in Venezuela., about the so-called "Content Law" and how it allegedly affects the free exercise of journalism, about how "journalists," under investigation for crimes, suffer persecution, and about regulatory hassles that the sniveling bourgeois media has to contend with in Venezuela.
The special panelists competed with one another to find out who could tell the biggest and the longest lies about Venezuela. Not to be outdone, numerous members of the audience, listening and watching the panelists, jumped into the orgy of lies and misrepresentation. A virtual struggle emerged between the panel and audience to exhibit excellence in the deliberate falsification of information about Venezuela. Although the audience boosted numerous gifted liars and dishonest individuals, it could not outperform the carefully selected panel.
This large mass of bourgeois media owners, editors, journalists went on such a wild and uninhibited rampage of lying and insane falsification against Venezuelan democracy that even IAPA President Diana Daniels, vice president of The Washington Post Company … for a moment … looked appalled.
An encore performance of Saturday's show was rescheduled for Sunday, the next day, but, by then, much of the material had gone stale and some delegates spent all of their time Sunday in the restrooms...
The IAPA rapped up on Monday, March 20, with the approval of the usual cheeky resolutions about Venezuela, rehashed from the October 2005 IAPA meeting in Indianapolis, and a big closing luncheon … fit for millionaires … to celebrate and rejoice over the anti-Venezuelan resolutions and to honor the despicable Cuban pro-imperialist journalist-in-exile Carlos Alberto Montaner.
The Miami-headquartered IAPA is a kind of NED, the National Endowment for Democracy. That is, the IAPA is a money laundering vehicle through which funds flow from US imperialism to Latin American and Caribbean propaganda outlets that oppose non-bourgeois regimes, like Venezuela … however democratic they are … or outlets whose support is necessary in order to perpetrate US frauds, like FTAA and CAFTA, on the region.
The money must be real good because a multitude of hemispheric capitalists in the communications field has stampeded to the trough or, more correctly, the IAPA pigsty.
Today, the IAPA has a membership in excess of 1,300, representing newspapers, TV, radio, and magazines from the North to the South Poles, with a combined newspaper and magazines circulation of 43,353,762.
In Venezuela alone, the IAPA has 29 members (with 19 of them in Caracas) which collectively constitute the totality of the Venezuelan capitalist media.
(These are only the public members, IAPA also has close ties to secret members which try to “false flag” or “misdirect” the public, pretending to be “left” or “revolutionary” and the like.)
Millions of dollars flow every year to these parasites or harlots.
A special organization called “IAPA Press Institute” coordinates the propaganda line of the various media in Venezuela and in Latin America against democracy and revolution in Venezuela.
The influence and presence of the CIA is pervasive within the IAPA. The whole setup seems to be more a matter of coordination and direction under the aegis of the CIA and IAPA, rather than direct ownership by US imperialists. However, US imperialists, as either shareholders or creditors, do own big pieces of the Latin American media.
The line of the CIA and IAPA-coordinated propaganda of the Venezuela bourgeois media is clear. It’s nothing short of what is called a full-court press in basketball. The bourgeois media attacks Venezuelan democracy on all four of the fundamental democratic principles -- sovereignty, the electoral principle, accountability, and the principle of the rule of law. Accountability is the special province of the IAPA because in a democracy, the free press and independent judiciary are two of the main institutions of accountability. So, IAPA propaganda devotes a lot of negative attention to the press and the judiciary. Needless to say, a lot of journalistic resources are spent trying to brainwash the Venezuela people that their democracy does not respect free and fair elections which the electoral principle upholds. Sovereignty is not overlooked but it gets the least amount of attention of the four principles from the bourgeois media.
In Quito meeting of the IAPA, something peculiar seemed to have emerged with regard to the principle of the rule of law as it relates to journalism. The Venezuela bourgeois media seems to be manufacturing a brand new “journalist privilege” which elevates reporters and their capitalist employers above the law. Thus, a journalist can go out and commit crimes, including murder, and then dare the state to prosecute him. If the state doesn’t prosecute him, then the journalist commits more crimes.
On the other hand, if the state prosecutes him, the entire bourgeois media, in Venezuela and through the hemisphere, screams “stop persecuting and restricting of the free press.”
After Anderson is murdered, the “journalist” can say either she didn’t attend the meeting or, if she did, she was there only as a journalist.

Why both Iran and Venezuela must expect preemptive military strikes from USA?
University of Los Andes (ULA)
professor Franz J. T. Lee writes: Over
the past months, many serious writers and scientists like Thomas
Bearden, Michael Ruppert or Siegfried Tischler have made us aware of
the latest frightening debates and eerie discussions that are taking
place around the globe, and which highlight such troublesome phenomena
like "global warming," the "unnecessary energy crisis," "Peak Oil," the
coming "Big Crash" of the USA, the devaluation of the US$, things like
"HAARP," "Mind and Thought Control," "Tesla Technology and Free
Energy," the shaky foundations of the world market and the advent of
genocidal, fascist world wars.
All these major events of modern history we have related directly to Venezuela and to the Bolivarian Revolution.
Furthermore, unless the USA and/or Israel do not launch military preemptive strikes against Iran within the next weeks, we’ll soon witness an international novelty that many countries will be buying and selling oil and gas for Euros ... this will put the ailing war economy of the USA and its sick US$ in jeopardy.
Till now, this military attack has not materialized itself as yet, because Iran has promised a "crushing response" in some way or the other, it is definitely ready for a heavy retaliation. We know that Iran has ground forces estimated at 800,000 personnel, also it has long-range missiles capable of striking both Israel and Europe.
At least, Al Jazeera is convinced that a joined Venezuelan and Iranian strategy exists: "By joining forces in a move expected to deal a major blow to the US economy, Iran and Venezuela are encouraging and creating a golden opportunity for other states to shift foreign-exchange holdings out of dollars and into euros or other currencies."
If this is really true, then both Iran and Venezuela could expect United States preemptive military strikes any moment in future.
Why this is so an article "Iran is the Next Battle Field," edited by Elias Akleh, explains very simply: "The Dollar is a fiat currency backed only by oil trade that uses only Dollar as its currency. Every country in the world must hold American Dollars to be able to purchase oil. The more demand for oil the more demand for the Dollar. This demand supports the value of the Dollar, and in turn supports the American economy. Switching oil trade from Dollar to Euro or to any other currency would reduce the demand for the Dollar, cause the reduction of its purchasing power and the inevitable collapse of the American economy."
Thus, seen from a global trans-historic viewpoint, nowadays, more than ever, there are vital, sustaining reasons why we have to recall, to keep in mind, to ponder very seriously about certain basic issues. Certain revolutionary needs like a new culture or a new system of self defense, necessitate immediate, urgent attention, demand praxical solutions, a scientific and philosophic framework, well-organized social projects.
Really, here in Venezuela, we do not have the privilege of living like "noble savages" in Rousseau's World; on the contrary, millions of us in Latin America are vegetating on the "bread line" in an imperialist world of fear, corruption, conspiracy, treason and treachery, i. e., we are living in Bush's Hobbesian Wolf Land.
Furthermore, a lackadaisical, middle class life style towards revolution and emancipation could become fatal for any revolutionary.
In future, by means of a series of commentaries we will address such pertinent global issues that directly affect our lives, our survival and quo vadis. Knowledge about our apocalyptic reality is the major weapon to surpass all our troubles. As emancipatory effect, our objective should be the self-creation of a new wo/man, of a new species, a new world, a new socialism.
In epochs of extreme danger, for example, around 1789 in France or 1917 in Russia, or 1939 in Germany and now between 2006 and 2008 in Venezuela and the whole globe, that is, during "the best of times, and the worst of times" (Charles Dickens), it becomes necessary to summarize, to have afterthoughts, to synchronize, to oscillate, to focus everything that we ever have thought and said, and to place its core in the epicenter of our present and future praxis and theory. In reality this is part and parcel of the creation of a historic memory, of social, class consciousness, of a new science and philosophy of human revolution and emancipation.
Let us commence with "Peak Oil." Like anything in the world, a phenomenon has its affirmation and its negation, some are in favor of something others are against it. This is the dialectical contradictory existence of any thing, of its two related real, true sides.
How are the "energy crisis," the North American war threats, and the new bourse of Iran, affecting the Gulf region, the current most vulnerable sector of the world market?
Over the last years, ever since 2001, the Gulf markets were flourishing, because of the abundance of liquidity, generated by the sharp rise of oil revenues, that lured millions of small investors into the region and they promised lucrative businesses and profits. Now, at the ides of March, 2006, suddenly, everything has changed.
On March 15, again Cassandra was warning us about the coming economic collapse; according to Al Jazeera, the Arab stock market is beginning to implode, this could have a domino effect around the globe. It is no wonder that the USA currently stops publishing its M3 money supply.
If this decaying process cannot be halted very soon, and if this virus would be allowed to spread itself worldwide, then the devastating effects would be the same as if an asteroid of a diameter of 5 kilometers has struck the earth. That virus has its headquarters in the White House, it is called the "Bush-Rumsfeld War Virus."
What is the philosophic crux of this apocalyptic threat?
Seen in terms of galactic eons, as a result of the fast growing, unilateral, one-sided, perverse non-relation of Man, of Society, towards Nature over the last millennia, that is, of the process of egoistically satisfying only ruling class "human" needs, and of mercilessly exploiting the physical and intellectual labor forces of billions of chattel and wage slaves, of "speaking tools" (Aristotle), in geometric progression Planet Earth is collapsing under the gigantic, destructive economic burden of global, capitalist, corporate vandalism, in reality, its life flame is being extinguished under the fascist war boot of genocidal Globalization.
In fact, as the result of human labor, ever since the so-called Neolithic revolution, dramatic physical changes took place on Earth. For example, as we know, phytoplankton forms the basis of the whole marine food chain, however, the warming up of the oceans, is now already affecting and infecting everything from zooplankton to the larger fish. The sea currents are being disrupted and global production and consumption of food will soon be affected seriously. This imperialist Behemoth is even destroying the seven seas.
In natural relation with the plankton in the sea, long ago, huge forests, that probably covered a third of the land surface, had absorbed effectively the necessary amount of CO2 that was created by the tons of gas coming from the cracks of the Earth as a result of volcanic action. Some methane gas was caught up under the ice that now escapes as a result of the gradually melting poles, caused by the inexorable warming up of the planet.
An excellent recent article, "Planet collapsing under global warming stress," written and published by Simon Willace on March 17, 2006, informs us as follows: "The gas was exhaust from an engine delivered in inexhaustible supplies after geo-sequestered carbon deposits incinerated beneath the earths crust and were continuously absorbed into carbon sinks on its surface which operated as if their lives depended upon it. It was a self sustaining mechanism that no longer operates."
Scientists like Siegfried Tischler, have made us aware that in the atmosphere there already exists enough CO2 to keep global warming going for the next 400 years. Furthermore, these scientists are warning that ice thawing at the north pole "will increase runoff to the Arctic Ocean and will release vast amounts of methane into the atmosphere, which of course will lead to greater warming and greater release of methane gases. This by itself is reason to believe the Global warming tipping point was reached some years ago." (Ibid.)
All this, added to the cosmic danger that comes through the huge holes in the ozone layer around the earth, the inhabitants of Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and even South Africa are already having a very hard time of survival; they are being faced with all kinds of health hazards.
And, who does anything, which democracies and governments care, which United Nations stops which United States?
Because of our own lethargy, our own Socratic death drive, do we really deserve to perish as a species?
And, if we try to do something about it, then immediately we are being branded as "terrorists," are being murdered!
This is the case of President Hugo Chavez Frias of Venezuela!
Concerning Latin America, we in Venezuela should be very careful with our Orinoco and Amazonia industrial projects, with deforestation for stock-breeding and cattle-ranching, including with our gas and oil exploitation and the construction of gas and petroleum pipelines across virgin lands, across the whole South American continent.
"As a sign of the times, rainforests in the Amazon are being sacrificed to the god of Chinese industry so that soya can feed the hungry pigs that grace the plates of the nation’s factory workers." (ibid.)
The war economies of industrial countries and their insatiable production of arms of mass destruction, including their geophysical arms like the HAARP projects, and their manipulation of natural climate, laws, forces and processes, have caused such huge environmental damages and problems, that nowhere on earth the weather is fine anymore, nowhere life itself is safe anymore.
Mother Nature, violated by the exploitative human labor process, cannot sustain herself anymore, cannot create life much longer anymore, as she did it once for millions of years. Polar bears are dying by drowning because global warming has already changed their natural habitat significantly; even the walruses are abandoning their pups, as the ice that once provided nurseries and kindergarten are melting away beneath the breeding population. In the oceans plankton and fish populations are being massacred, Ground cover and forest on land are drying out, rainforests in the Congo and elsewhere have already been affected, and because of capitalist, imperialist vandalism, even Amazonia is recording her driest years.
What the North American genocidal attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq have left behind is just incredible. What damage "Plan Colombia" is already causing to South American flora and fauna, to our food, health, biodiversity, oxygen and water supplies, this every indigenous peasant knows.
What a natural and human disaster North American military invasion in Venezuela would cause is beyond human imagination.
In Venezuela, those "chavistas" who plot against the Bolivarian Revolution, who do not have the foggiest idea about their capital and cardinal crimes against future generations, and against humanity in its entirety: with their horrendous deeds, they are even putting the Devil, Mammon, to shame.
It is not even a case anymore of "Father, forgive them, they do not know what they are doing." Knowingly and consciously, receiving millions of dollars for their overt and covert CIA operations, with manuals in their hands, they are committing unforgivable crimes against life on this planet.
Not even hell fire could burn away the innocent Venezuelan blood on their murderous, treacherous fingers.
Emancipatory History itself will absolve Fidel Castro and Chavez -- History will dissolve these traitors into the galactic black holes of Nothingness..
However, we should not forget, the above is not a personal matter, is not the crime of an elitist gang, it is the bloody trail of globalization, of capitalist, imperialist, world corporatism; this is Orwellian fascism approximating us, human beings, animals, insects, plants, atoms and particles everywhere, also in Iran and Venezuela. At this eleventh hour, it is the Leviathan monster that comes nearer every ticking second, that desperately is devouring everything sacred and human, even its own labor essence.
We have to grasp the many transhistoric reasons and causes why North America has to invade Venezuela and the rest of the subjugated world. It is not only a matter of the "Empire," not only of "Oil," not just to check-mate the other competitors for world hegemony, not mainly to save the petro-dollar against the coming petro-euro, not just personal megalomania of a Bush clique, not because Chavez "attacks" Bush.
On the contrary, our planetary reality is much more complicated than just studying isolated events, it is not a CNN news reel, a rat race of isolated events, blended out by loud horror music clips. World reality is being reflected by all its existential inter-related elements, and by many other things, that only a sound and sane mind can register, capture and understand.
The obsolete world order, decadent Western culture, archaic world religions, the world market in agony, mortally affected by "Peak Oil," a moribund capitalism and imperialism that is losing its "death-bringing" energy, old fossil energy, a crashing "Fourth Empire," all form part of the signs of our time, of the beginning of the end and of the final demise of all modes of exploitative production and of dominating reproduction.
The ALBA, the dawning on the new horizon of human creation and creativity in Venezuela, the clarion call, the vox populi of "Diana" in all Central and South America, in Africa, the Caribbean and elsewhere in the "Third World," that is, the coming into existence of human emancipation ... all these scare the hell out of globalization.
Capitalism came into existence, it has reached its heyday, now, in the 21st century, like anything else it merits its own self-destruction, nothing can save it anymore, together with its lackeys and Quislings, it should now enjoy its own death fangs and pangs, its torturous, terrorist, painful fading away into universal oblivion.
What is fundamental is that we should not nurture a dying capitalism in Venezuela, not follow capitalism into its Draculian grave. Hence, all "chavistas without Chavez" beware! But, even more so, this is also valid for all the "chavistas with Chavez"!
And, Miami lovers, please learn a bitter lesson from the Great Depression of 1929 in Europe: if the USA and the dollar should crash any time, then the greenback will not be worth the paper on which it is printed. Any Yankee lover in Zulia may end up as poor as a skinny church-mouse, making its nest in a million dollar paper garbage trash-can, that will not be worth a dime. Comrades, let us rather stay with Bolivar, with our bolivares. At least, a certain sum of them would still be able to buy a nice passion fruit juice and a huge empanada filled with delicious natural beans.
Finally, here in Venezuela, in the shadow of the North American Sword of Damocles, it is no more an issue of piecemeal dialogues and sweet-tongued "peace-talks" or of neo-liberal reformist palaver, also not of atomized practice, of isolated ideological sophistry and of dispersed religious hopes.
Rather because a large part of humanity does not know how dark the night really can be, also many do not remember the darkest night that industrial humanity ever has experienced in Europe, namely, the night of the Nazi "long knives," that is, the launching of German Nazism, hence, this is the reason why no social earthquake shakes the foundations of America as yet.
Unless the Bolivarian Revolution internationalizes, globalizes itself very rapidly, unless we urgently stop this devouring Moloch, that is active all over already, the destruction of life, of mankind will be a billion-fold worse.
Against the British claim that "it is never too late to mend," we state that it is never too late to save mankind from extinction ... to emancipate ourselves from the ferocious, voracious claws of world fascism.
