Bush mafia would like to murder Chavez; their savagery know no limits
VHeadline guest commentator Clifton Ross writes: I'm afraid most of my reflections at this point will be made by a novice in the Bolivarian process, but here they are for what they're worth. For the most part I'm not even competent to do more than reflect at this point, that is, mirror what I'm seeing, echo what I'm hearing.
Hopefully I'll be more informed in time and have the capacity to actually analyze what I'm seeing and hearing and experiencing.
Yesterday I had a rather disturbing meeting with our Bolivarian Translator's Circle. It wasn't the company, but the alarm of possible magnicide, coup d'etats, and the destruction of this beautiful process was profoundly disconcerting in our “concert” of exchange.
The rumors are swirling around and some of you may have heard some of them ... in addition to the uncovering of an assassination plot against Chavez, two bombs went off in Caracas and mysterious planes have been rumored to have landed in the country.
So, it appears, the US is intent on bringing “Amerkkkan style democracy” to Venezuela which is newspeak for dictatorship, genocide and death squad culture.
After the meeting with the BTC, I went looking for Simon Arado, my new friend the gregarious poet-electrician. I found him, as expected, in front of the Tulio Cordero Cultural Center ... the gathering place for all the local artists and intellectuals. He'd been trying to call me all day because we'd planned for him to do some electrical work in my studio but my phone was being repaired. As we walked up the street for a coffee and parts to begin the project, I talked about my alarm over the rumors.
Simon warned me that if they managed to kill Chavez, that I should stick with the people I know, because it will be very dangerous to be in the streets.
“Those who want to kill Chavez ... the North American government ... they don't care about any of this ... they just want the oil ... they don't care how many thousands die.” He went on to predict a few days of mass rage in the event of an attempt or an assassination. He'd seen this during the Caracazo in 1989 when there was an intense riot put down by the army in a slaughter of civilians.
This would be especially dangerous for North Americans like me, identified as we are with our government.
“People around here already are getting to know you. But you should take care. You know,” he said, “Stick with Jose Sant Roz, Matute and the others because people will know who you are by the company you keep and you'll be protected.”
Then he went on to talk about the coup and the two days of repression that happened from April 11-13 2002 when Chavez was taken prisoner for two days and Carmona took over.
“I shaved off my mustache and threw all my papers away ... I gathered everything together and said goodbye to my children and was prepared to go off into the mountains to begin fighting there with all the other patriots ... and then Chavez came back ... but in those two days we saw the naked face of the “escualidos” and suffered incredible persecution from them before Chavez returned."
"That was when the thirty percent of the undecided came over to our side because they saw how fascist the opposition actually is.”
We were walking up the hill and the fog was rolling down the mountainside, slipping over Pico Bolivar like a hand that became a river of cloud in the early evening, almost luminescent in the dying sun.
Then Simon reassured me: “You know, Chavez is an incredible strategist. The yankees (US government) have a strategy of destroying the enemy ... you know, 'kill them all, liquidate them, destroy them,' sort of like what they did in Fallujah.
Chavez follows Sun Tzu, you know, 'take the enemy whole.'
I'll give you an example: After the coup some generals and the 'escualidos' gathered in a big square in Caracas. They accused Chavez of everything: Chavez the communist, Chavez the murderer, Chavez the thief, Chavez the homosexual. We have to kill him, we have to destroy his government, etc. And so it went on.
Chavez' response? Nothing.
He said “they have a right to their opinion ... let them say what they like.”
"And so, eventually, they had to go to the bathroom and there were no bathrooms ... they got tired and hungry ... and they went home ... and that was that.”
Simon brushed his hands as if finishing a task... “And people saw that, and admired Chavez, but they hated the opposition even more because they knew all this was a pack of lies.”
Today, I spent an hour or so with Betty, my landlady ... she was talking about her favorite themes of endogenous development, ethics and morality and she mentioned how contrary to appearances the Bolivarian process is. “Chavez is a spark ... people love him because he thinks like them, not because he thinks for them ... I hear the campesinos say this all the time: 'I like Chavez because he thinks like me about such and such' they say, not 'he thinks for me.' No!"
"Venezuelans are very independent ... Chavez articulates what the people are thinking and says it in words they would also use and that's why they support him. This is a revolution from the ground up.”
Hopefully the rumors are false...
Certainly the Bush mafia would like to murder Chavez just as they're drooling to steal Iran and slaughter all the Iranians. Their savagery, greed and power lust know no limits.
But it won't be so easy to end this process that has begun here in Venezuela.
Not until they've gotten rid of the last peasant in the mountains and killed Simon Arado, too.

Children of the Native Spirits awakening ... they are being led by Chavez
VHeadline.com commentarist Oscar Heck writes: Not so long ago, a young Spaniard "from a good family" took the long and dangerous boat trip to South America, seeking El Dorado, the mystical land of plenty ... plenty of gold and diamonds, gems and silver.
He, as many others, had heard of this "land of gold" when he was a child ... the "land of gold" which no one had yet been able to find. He wished to be the first to find it and to profit from it, and he was.
To reach El Dorado, the young Spaniard had to traverse the mosquito infested Delta Amacuro in north-eastern Venezuela, paddle down its maze of rivulets and then flow south-west down the unpredictable Orinoco river, divert to the Caroni, into the Embalse de Guri (a large lake) and then follow the Caroni again into the heart of the dense tropical forests and Tepuis.

He had to fend off storms of predatory insects, especially in the evenings and at night. He survived bouts of malaria, larval skin infections and struggles with blood suckers, piranhas, snakes and alligators.
Once he acquired enough gold, diamonds and gems, he found his way north and settled in a cool mountain valley about 50 kilometers inland from the Caribbean coast ... in a land which the Caracas tribe, Chief Guaicapuro's people, had lived on for millennia in peaceful harmony with Nature.
Once settled, the young Spaniard, now slightly tanned due to the intensity of the sun's rays to which he had been exposed to during his journey, sent messages to his friends and family abroad about his adventures.
In letters, he gloated over his findings and arrogantly flaunted his wealth and stealth.
He became the envy of many who still lived in his homeland ... a homeland he never returned to.
However, what the young Spaniard omitted from his letters was the fact that he had had to maim and murder several Warao indians when traveling through Delta Amacuro.
He had also had to assassinate several Pemon and Yanomami on his way down the Caroni. To satisfy his animal instincts he had had to kidnap and rape young native girls. (In El Dorado there were no priests to hold him accountable to his barbaric acts.)
Not knowing the crimes the young Spaniard had committed, some of his friends came to join him ... seeking to acquire the same wealth, seeking to live like him, to be like him. Some drowned on the journey over the great seas, but many survived the trip ... and eventually joined their friend in the once-free land of the Caracas natives.
Upon their arrival, the young Spaniard gave his friends the details of his experiences, what he had had to do, why he had had to maim, kill and rape ... in order to acquire his wealth. Many of his friends did the same ... and eventually, over time, hundreds and thousands of Spaniards did the same, over and over again during generations.
Guaicaipuro tried everything to fight off this new infestation (the Spaniards) who in addition to murdering and raping, also enslaved some Indians, brought in slaves from Black Africa and spread their bodily diseases throughout the land, infecting and killing thousands of Natives wherever they set foot. But, the Spaniards had guns and cannons ... they had the upper hand (for the time being). The Indians slowly retreated into the forests and into the mountains and vowed, in time, to avenge their maimed, raped and dead.

The Indians had patience ... they knew the day would come when the pale skins would pay for their crimes.
The time has come, according to the Great Spirits ... of which Guaicaipuro is one.
The above story is representative of a portion of Venezuela's history (and Spanish history) ... eerily reminiscent of the history of the English, Dutch, Belgian, German and Portuguese people in South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
The true disease was not the bodily diseases which were carried by the pale-skins.
The true disease was the pale-skins themselves ... and the natives knew it ... and in their infinite patience they knew they could wait for the disease itself to become so advanced that it would eventually become severely crippled ... at which time, one of theirs would suddenly rise to swipe them off their weakened feet.
Hugo Chavez Frias, Venezuela's democratically-elected (and re-elected) dark-skinned President may be the indian which the Great Spirits had been preparing the way for.
The disease has reached its peak, not only in Venezuela , but around the world.
The Children of the Native Spirits are awakening, and they are being led by Chavez. Just as Guacaipuro led his people against the Spaniards at the onset of the disease in Venezuela, Hugo Chavez is leading The people against the pale-skins at the peak of the disease.
It is not a matter of pale or dark skins.
It just happens to be a fact that the disease itself is primarily that of the pale-skins ... and that it has spread throughout the world like a cancer ... propelled exponentially in the last several generations by those pale-skins who hoarded the lands where the Cherokee, the Cree, the Mohawk, (and the hundred of other tribes) once roamed freely ... in the land which is now ironically called "The Land of the Free."
The chiefs of the "Land of the Free" have cleverly spread their disease to their own people and have cunningly injected it into the veins of other leaders of nations throughout the world ... murdering, maiming, torturing and raping millions of innocent People in the process.
The People of the "Land of the Free" are weary and perplexed ... but they don't know why.
They don't know why they are so often looked upon as diseased by many of the peoples of other nations ... especially when their chiefs continue to flaunt the massive wealth which they have acquired throughout the years.
Like the young Spaniard, the chiefs of the "Land of the Free" recount stories to their own people about all the modern-day El Dorados to which they have been ... in order to acquire their wealth ... (and they have the goods to show for it) ... but they omit to tell their own People what it is they have had to do in order to acquire such wealth, power and prestige.
Meanwhile, natives throughout the world await, quietly hidden in the background, ready to pounce ... ready to avenge their maimed, raped and murdered loved ones, past and present.

Max Boot's Recruiting Plan Deserves the Boot
By Jacob G. Hornberger
, June 17, 2005
Max Boot, one of the most ardent boosters of the U.S. government's
invasion of Iraq and one of the most pro-empire proponents you'll ever
find, is lamenting the difficulty that military recruiters are having in
signing up young American men to give their lives for foreign democracy and
the establishment of an Islamic regime in Iraq. Given his enthusiastic
devotion to the U.S. government's military occupation of Iraq, Boot rejects
withdrawing from Iraq, but he also rejects the idea of a draft because the
latter would "dilute the high quality of the all-volunteer force."
So, what does Boot suggest? He says that the military should recruit
foreigners to do the fighting, dying, and killing in exchange for U.S.
citizenship. Yes, you read that right - he didn't say simply recruit
illegal aliens living in the United States - he said recruit foreigners
living anywhere in the world and make them American citizens in return!
Presumably Boot feels that this would not "dilute the high quality of the
all-volunteer force." He even uses the French (!) Foreign Legion as his
model.
Anticipating the rabid reaction that he knows will come from many in
the anti-immigrant (and anti-French) crowd, Boot says, "There is no better
way to build [a cultural bond to America] than through military training
and discipline. Drill sergeants have been forging cohesive units out of
disparate elements since the days of the Roman legions."
So, how about that? According to Boot, culture and militarism now go
hand in hand, just as they did in the Roman Empire (or, for that matter, in
the Soviet and British empires as well). Military boot camp, humiliation,
right-face and left-face, cadence songs, obeying orders, spit-shining, and
"yes sir" and "no sir." Now, that's what the culture of a free country is
all about, according to neoconservative icon Max Boot.
Boot fails to address a critical moral point: If Americans are
refusing to sign up to become cannon fodder or killers of innocent people
in the war of aggression and illegal occupation of Iraq, why is it moral to
encourage or pay citizens of foreign countries to do so?
I've got another solution that perhaps Boot hasn't considered: Rather
than doling out advice on how the U.S. government should run the occupation
of a country that never attacked the United States and that had nothing to
do with the 9/11 attacks, and rather than coming up with a bizarre solution
to the U.S. government's recruiting woes, why doesn't Boot himself
volunteer for the army, just as Pat Tillman did after the 9/11 attacks?
That is, if Boot honestly believes that the security of the nation
(or the government) is at stake or if he feels that democracy or the
establishment of an Islamic Shi'ite regime in Iraq are so important, why is
he wasting his time coming up with ludicrous plans to fill the military's
ranks? Why doesn't he instead go down to his recruiter's office and simply
sign up and volunteer for service in Iraq? Wouldn't that be the "patriotic"
thing to do? Doesn't genuine leadership entail his doing what he is asking
others to do?
Or does Boot feel that only the poor, uneducated people of Latin
America, Africa, and Asia (or the United States), and not the elite,
well-to-do, intellectual pointy-heads of America should be put in the
position of fighting, dying, and killing for the U.S. government's military
adventures overseas?
What better reflection of the moral and intellectual bankruptcy of
the neoconservative vision for our nation than Boot's military-recruitment
plan? Not only have these people destroyed Iraq, unless they're stopped
their pro-militarism and pro-empire vision will ultimately destroy our
nation as well.

Foundation. Send him email.

Amigo Rider,
